Leonard & Penny

One of my favorite television couples is Leonard and Penny.

I love The Big Bang Theory. It's hilarious. Four nerds and a normal girl. And Leonard and Penny's relationship totally makes the series. I love how geeky Leonard is, it's actually pretty appealing. And Penny is cute and funny. They somehow just go together. When they break up, it's kind of blah. Like why the heck aren't they together blah.

All the highs and lows of their relationship are ridiculous. I love every minute they're on. Bickering, getting along, etc. I just love them as a couple.

Classy

Classy. That's what I want people to describe my style as. Like Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, or Princess Diana.

Too many girls love short cut, low cut, skin showing ugliness that's unflattering on most young women and doesn't show style at all. Seriously, all this modern stuff shows that you know how to go to Aeropostale and buy what they tell you, it's not unique.

I love 1930s to 1960s style the most. They were beautiful and poised. Their makeup was very natural colored with emphasis on their eyes. They had gorgeous skin and healthy bodies. Nobody could tell how if they ate too many muffins because half their body isn't showing.

The following clothing selections are my favorites for everyday or for dates, whatever.

Cake Balls

Recipe #2

Cake Balls seem to be taking the country by storm. Seriously, these things are everywhere now. Instead of cupcakes, cake balls. And I can't complain, they're delicious! They're easy to make and can easily be transported without a car catastrophe. I can't say why this is such a sensation, but it just is. I love these little things and can't get enough of them.

You only need these three things:

1 Cake Mix, any flavor.
1 can of frosting, whatever flavor you wish
Chocolate for the covering, can be white, dark, etc. I recommend Almond Bark

Step 1: Bake the cake.
Use the directions on the box.

Step 2: Crumble the cake.
After the cake has cooled for about fifteen minutes, crumble the cake with your hands.

Step 3: Frosting.
Mix the frosting with in with the crumbled cake with your hands. Mix lots of frosting for moist cake balls, less frosting for more of a cake taste. Chill the balls for a little while in the fridge.

Step 4: Roll into balls with your hands. Put in freezer to set. If you let them stay in the freezer for 6 hours, it makes the balls much easier to dip in the chocolate and they come out much prettier.

Step 5: Melt chocolate in microwave/stove. Follow directions on chocolate.

Step 6: Roll balls in chocolate. Set out wax paper to lay the chocolate covered balls on. Several different ways to dip the chocolate work, you just have to find the best one for yourself. You can use a toothpick to poke the ball and dip it, or a fork and spatula, even a spoon. I prefer the fork and spatula.

Step 7: Decorate your cake balls. You can drizzle another color icing on top, put sprinkles on top, whatever, be creative. Cupcake pops are a cute treat.

Princess Ka'iulani (2010) Review

Princess Ka'iulani was a spectacular movie. I learned something and I fell in love with the characters. The acting was believable, the costumes were gorgeous, the love was sappy.

I honestly loved Q'orianka Kilcher as the princess. She had such a way about her that was beauty in itself. Her acting was spectacular and she won me over easily. I can't remember anyone who's done that in quite a while.

The supporting cast was also wonderful, adding conflicts and sweet moments to the film. My favorite part about the movie was learning about Hawaii's annexation to the United States. In textbooks in America, we talk about how we wronged them very little because it's cruel what we did to that country. America is all about freedom, but we didn't give Hawaii the freedom to choose if they wanted to be annexed. It really saddened me that the US did this.

Overall, it was a good movie to watch on Saturday night, light and informative.

Princess Ka'iulani stars Q'orianka Kilcher, Barry Pepper, and Shaun Evans.

If only...

If I was a disney princess, I would be Jasmine from Aladdin.

Jasmine is pretty witty, not so boy dependent, beautiful, and she gets to ride on a magic flying carpet. That's about as good as it gets.

Of course, I also love Pocahontas, Mulan, and Repunzel.

Maggie Lou

Maggie Lou is my cat. I got her when I was in fourth grade. She was wondering around my grandmother's home and when no one claimed her, my dad brought her home to me. She has been my baby ever since. So when I got my new camera for Christmas, Maggs became a superstar and posed for all my pictures. Here's some pics from one of our photoshoots. Sorry they're unedited.

Quote of the Day

"Don't fret. Things are never as bad as they seem."
-Miss Maudie, To Kill a Mockingbird

I read To Kill a Mockingbird my sophomore year of high school and I loved it. My favorite character was Miss Maudie. And, the first time she said this in the book, I wrote it down on a piece of paper and it has stuck with me. It's kind of like the passage in the Bible that says God is there for you, do not worry about tomorrow. But either way, any kind of quote similar to this is nice to chant to yourself when you are completely angry, sad, anything.

Crazy Horse Monument

Crazy Horse was a Oglala Lakota Indian who fought against the US troops to try to preserve and protect the Lakota way of life and their territory. He lead a war party at the Battle of Little Big Horn against Custer in June 1876. He didn't like having his picture taken and wanted to be buried at an undisclosed location. It is still unknown where his remains lie. He is one of the most notable Indian Leaders, behind Geronimo.

Well the Lakota wanted to honor Crazy Horse because he was such a great leader and all, so they commissioned  Korczak Ziolkowski to sculpt a monument of Crazy Horse out of a mountain in the Black Hills, Custer County, South Dakota. It is reminiscent of Mount Rushmore, and only 17 miles away from Mt. Rushmore. It has been in progress since 1948 and still has a while to go before it's completed.

I heard about this and immediately thought, "I need to visit this thing in the near future." But my chances of actually getting that far north any time soon are slim. I don't like extensive travel and cold isn't really my thing, plus i'm a bit busy and will be for the foreseeable future. But seeing it would be amazing. It's being sculpted, right now. History in the making. And it means something to the Lakota Indians today, and should mean something to all Americans considering Crazy Horse represents a big part of American History.

Again, amazing work. I want to visit it in the future. I can't wait. There's so many places I want to visit.

What finished product should look like.

Head with Tourists.

Far away.

Outline for entire monument.

Picnik

Saturday I opened up an email from picnik and it said they were officially closing on April 19th. I am devastated by this because I use picnik for all my picture editing. I do occasionally use some apps on my computer, but they're just not as good as picnik. I mean the layout and easy functioning of picnik is wonderful. How could anything else compare? I don't know how google could take this away from me. It's just cruel. Now I must find an app on my computer that I like and buy it if I want exceptional picture editing. Or I could try and find another website. But that's highly unlikely. No website will ever be as good as my picnik. And it was FREE. Unless you wanted premium. I'm rambling, but I'm upset and I don't care.

Farewell my beloved Picnik.

And p.s., picnik premium will be available for free until the closing in April, just saying, it's a great opportunity.
