I watched Castle when it first came on in 2009. I got busy and didn't get a chance to watch it again regularly, until this year, the fourth season. I liked it when I first watched it, and I still like it. Of course, i've always loved a good crime drama, but still, I love the story line in this particular show. A writer and a cop, working together. What a combo. It makes for great laughs and lots of good episodes.
There's always tension between the two main characters, Castle and Beckett. And they have great on-screen chemistry, so the show has a spark. Castle is hilarious and intelligent. He is always saying something irrelevant, but also always contributes to the case, helping solve it. His ideas are far fetched, but that's okay since it's a fictional show and you can't expect anything else. Beckett is a delightful, sarcastic, and rough detective. She grows to like Castle, and the two are good friends. She is very opinionated and dominates everything. She is a bit of a loner.
Beckett and Castle play ring around the rosy, but you know they will be together eventually. Until then, i'm going to keep watching the show.
